With Catalyst 12.9 and newer, the CCC/Vision Control Panel will not work unless (at least) .NET Framework v4.0 from Microsoft is installed.

Windows 8
This operating system ships with .NET Framework 4.5 already.  You are good to go.

Vista and Windows 7
The .NET Framework 4.5 is a complete update, and will uninstall any previous .NET v4.x installs prior to installing itself.  You can download version 4.5 here: http://www.microsoft.com/net.

It is not compatible with WindowsXP.

WindowsXP
You need this version: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=17851 , and then update it to this version: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=29054

The second download link is the v4.0.3 update to v4.0, and is the last version that is compatible with WindowsXP.
