Last night, the Catalyst team has unveiled the brand new AMD Catalyst Uninstall Utility, available at the URL above .

I ran it on my computer here and was pleasantly surprised. It left the chipset drivers (thankfully), but it took off all the old folders that we normally have to manually delete during uninstalls (C:, C:/ProgramData, etc.) and the non-Chipset registry keys and Global Assembly Caches (from .Net in the C:/Windows/assembly folder). 

During the uninstall, the screen did go black for longer-than-expected (took about 20sec to come back), so keep that in mind during your uninstallation, but this is normal functionality depending on your system (it didn't do the Safe Mode driver change that the old Uninstaller did, which explains the delay).

While there is no GUI window open during the uninstall in Windows, the AMD Icon (which says "In Progress" when you hover over it) does stay by the clock in the system tray, so that you know that it's still running.
