I have a question regarding the new integrated A10-5800K processor:

I started minecraft yesterday, and watched the task manager --> performance tab when "running around" a bit.

The CPU load was about 45% during this test. My question is: What is the performance graph actually showing? Is it the CPU load alone or is it the CPU load PLUS the graphics load?

In other words, would this graph go lower if I put a discrete gfx card in my machine or is this graph only displaying the "CPU part" of the proceccor?

Regards

Oyvind

At a guess , i would say the CPU only because the GPU is exactly that..  a GPU, and is a separate entity to the CPU but sharing the same silicon space/structure.

Yes, that makes sense. I guess there aren't to many "shared" components between cpu and gpu. I am just a bit suprised that Minecraft takes so much power from a new processor.

Just checked the load again, the cpu load is more like 38-40% on average, and the framerate is about 60-70 with 1920x1080.

Playing in a window makes no difference on the cpu load or framerate.
