i bought two of the new fx-6300 3.5gb "4.1 turbo" through newegg put it in and notice the turbo is only working half way in my programs boosts to 3.8gb from 3.5gb on both comps. so i stress it with everything out there prime95, games "crysis 2, metro 2033 etc" winzip, itunes single threading and muti threading apps. its running at 100% in most of theses but still not boosting fully to 4.1. ive have updated bios. drivers. windows updates, reformatting, turning cool and quiet off everything. so i took it out installed into a buddy pc that i bought the extra for same thing on both swaps on two different setups and two different chips "same model" same thing. we rma'd both got new ones. try'd again same thing... so he decides to try a few things installs "AOD amd overdrive" checks the turbo core options moves the clocking up in the boost, bam works perfect. so basicly should i just do that or is it gunna hurt my warrenty or chip all that? ive emailed amd no awnser, i called they said to email sigh
mine form 3.5gb at w/e mutipilier its useing for the app, turbos to 3.8gb at x19 multiplier on half cores. from factory specs it says it turbos to 4.1gb at x20.5 mutipilier on half cores. not happening on mine. but his works perfect hits 4.1gb turbo properly montiering it all from "cpu-z and two other programs to make sure im seeing this on real time and correct specs"
