Does the lowest-end 2-core Trinity get the same great HQV score as the high-end 4-core?

How about asking a question which actually matters, such as "Does a dual core Trinity APU perform as well as a quad core Trinity APU when (insert task here, such as encoding, transcoding, converting)?"

HQV score is a measure of video playback quality.

The A4-5300 has the HD 7480 gpu so I can't see it getting the same score as the A10's HD 7660 in that benchmark.

It looks like HQV is a new-ish benchmark that's trying to quantify something that's always going to be somewhat subjective...

.. not to mention that any recent GPU should be able to render a 2D image just as well as any other, so image quality is mostly determined by drivers these days.

... and not to mention the quality of the display either...

... or viewing angles

... or lighting

HQV results are being talked up by AMD, I've read, and so hoped an AMD tech would have the answer on the forum.

And you apparently missed the following:

While this is a very subjective metric...

and

HQV scores need to be taken with a grain of salt.

Word of advice... when a benchmark is being "talked up" by a hardware vendor it usually means you should find a different benchmark.
