I recently put together my PC with an A6 Trinity APU and its working great for games, i was hoping to smooth things out a little more with dual graphics so i got a card off my friend for 20$ that is 6450 and it works.

Now with everything working and the options set to perform for better quality over visual...I'm not seeing any increase in performance, and its looking like im losing performance in some games, a few games ive noticed are

Saints row the third
Dota 2
terraria(jk)

I'm seeing lower FPS in some cases as well as breaks in the game(not due to internet lag) I'm fairly certian it was working at 100% and when i pulled out the card after some heavy gaming it was warm(due to my amazing cooling :3)

Anyone else seeing a performance loss?

It's uncommon for there to be a net loss in performance, but it's hardly the first report I've seen of something weird happening in hybrid crossfire.  Even just on this forum... you'll find lots of threads about it.

I'd say it's a good thing you only spent $20 on that card.

I suppose...off to craigslist goes the card then...really was hoping for more but the options with the dual graphics are limited...too bad they didn't make it that the APU has priority and the 2nd GPU takes the leftovers

The 6450 is very, very low end card and the suggested card to "Duel Graphic" with is a 6570 which is much closer to the specs of the inegrated APU.

Even so, did you upgrade the drivers to 12.11 and set up the "Duel Graphic" in the CCC contol panel? It should have made "some" difference!

Can you exchange the 6450 for the 6570 for the extra $20 odd dollars and see how that goes?

Whats with the ""? They were updated, yes it was set up, and maybe it would but im not sure if I'd trust dual graphics enough to buy an additional card instead of upgrading to the A10, although i might be trading my Desktop soon for an i7, 550 laptop

it did make a diffrence it kinda slowed things down

I was initially seeing some performance loss with an A8 + 6670 in dual graphics. I made a few changes though.

I connected the monitor through the onboard video out.
Pit stop in BIOS, forced the IGD, set it to 1gb framebuffer (matches the 6670), enabled surround view.
Installed newest chipset drivers, sans SATA driver.
Reboot.
Installed Catalyst 13.1.
Shut down.
Installed 6670.
Turned on, opened CCC, enabled Dual Graphics and checked the box for forcing dual graphics for applications with no profile.

Got huge gains in Doom 3 BFG edition, Blacklight:Retribution, WoW, Skyrim, Mass Effect trilogy and Dead Space games.
I get even better gains when I overclock the IGD from 760mhz to 800mhz to match the 6670 and force the XMP profile of my Ripjaws.

Haven't tried any others though.
