I am getting temperatures upto 85 degrees celcius with my new AMD FX-8350 using the stock cooler, not overclocked.

My system specs are:

AMD FX-8350 4.0 GHZ Black Edition

Nvidia Geforce GTX 670

Asus M5A78L-M/USB3.0

750W PSU

8GB Patriot Viper DDR3 RAM.

I really, really need some help or an answer, being 17 I do not have the money to squander on processor after processor, I worked for 6 months just to build this PC which is supposed to last me for the next 6 years through university, I cannot afford to have these problems. I am begging someone, help?

Also, some additional information; when I open anything the temperature moved from an idle 33 to 47 degrees, no matter what it is I am opening. I think this could possibly be a sign that the temperature monitor is broken.

Furthermore, the 85 degrees temperature had no impact on my system, or at least it was not noticable.

 

 

If it was 85 degrees, it would crash. It didn't, so it isn't. I do believe there is a thread on here about the proper way to monitor temps...

Using those techniques I was getting the same results, is there a possibility there is a fault with the temp monitor?

Ok, using both programs at once, rendering a video with Far Cry 3 and 2 instances of skyrim open in the most CPU intensive areas I can find and I still am only reaching 70, but I play a fullscreen game for an hour and bam, it's at 85.

Try CPUID Hardware monitor

• What is the name (and version #) of the program that you are using to monitor the temps with?
• Are you referring to your CPU temp (singular) or your CPU's core tempuratures (plural, i.e. 8 temperature readings to be specific)?
• Have you read --> **STICKY** | Correct information on how to read your CPU temps  Straight from Alex Cromwell, Senior Technology Director, Advanced Micro Devices?
• Is your motherboard currently flashed with the latest BIOS/UEFI version?
• Are you running your system with BIOS/UEFI configuration settings set to "AUTO"?
