The short answer... If another two cores were tacked on with no other changes, then yes the chip would probably run hotter. However, there's usually a little more tinkering involved than just tacking on a few extra cores, and chip engineers have all kinds of devilish tricks aimed at managing these things. Generally speaking, the less power a chip requires the less heat it will dissipate.
