Great forum...

I am looking for recommendations on motherboards that will take this AMD proessor please: http://shop.amd.com/us/Business/Detail/Processor/OSA8212CRWOF

It is mainly for usage as server or workstation preferably. Sorry for being newbie on this processor and having a difficult time to find motherboards that can take this new processor..

Any suggestions or recommendations will be greatly appreciated and thank you in advance.

Let's see, OSA8212CRWOF comes back as a K8 AMD Second Generation Opteron 8212 using Socket F. It's an old processor that uses a discontinued socket, only place you'd be able to find one is on ebay or a computer recycler.

TYAN, Supermicro, Asus, Gigabyte, MSI.

The three 1st ones hade a few different models for socket F.
The two latter had about one model each.
Obviously you will need ECC registered RAM to use these processors.

Can you please share with me which models from each manufacturer if it is not too much trouble?

I spoke with Supermicro and their rep lead me to their website for various models, but nobody carries them.. I spoke with few distributors and there is a lead time of 90 days plus but assurance if they can deliver... Supermicro states they have them, but nobody caries them... After persisting the channel they state carries these motherboards, they started back peddle - they could not state or confirm who.

Please let me know and again thank you.

Sorry, I did not keep a record of these boards. The search term Socket F or Socket 1207 in google brings up a few hits. ebay might be the place to find these on sale.
