I just bought an AMD FX 8350 CPU for a new build and am looking for the best mobo I can find for it. I was thinking about the ASUS Sabertoth 990FX Rev 2 mobo but am here looking to see what everyone thinks is the best mobo for this CPU.  Thanks!

I love my GA-990FXA-UD7...  I highly recommend it.  As long as you get one that is NOT a rev 1.0 (rev 1.0 do NOT have LLC and it is rather good to have)

If you are not big into overclocking go with the Sabertooth as it has a simpler UEFI (BIOS interface).  If you are knowledgable with overclocking and want more control go with the ASUS Crosshair V Formula Z.  This is a ROG (Republic of Gamers) class board and has a very big following which means a lot of information on the internet for you to use.  Also, since this is a very popular board if you wanted to get into water cooling most of the major water block manufacturers make a product to fit this motherboard specifically and most computer water cooling retails carry these products.

That's the pro's for ASUS now for the cons....they have absolutely terrible customer service and tech support so keep that in mind if that is something that is important to you as you will feel the pain if you ever need to RMA the board.

That being said, all but one of my 8 rigs have ASUS motherboards in them, two of which are ASUS ROG class.    I am that big of a fan of them!

Cheers!

I would go with the Sabertooth R2. I have no issues with it at all.

I use Crosshair V Formula-Z and at benchtable Crosshair V Formula. My friend has Sabertooth and what I know, for aircooling/liquid are Crosshair V and Sabertooth the same, so perfect . Better for you will be Sabertooth 2.0 because you cant update BIOS with Phenom before to use AMD FX CPU...
