my temps were so hot on the gigabyte board, NB 100c and 65c on the cpu. the CPU overheating was overheating that board bc the NB cooler isnt as good as the sabertooth.  I posted a thread on gigabyte, we then thought it was the NB overheating causing the increase in temps, hence the sabertooth purchase. BEHOLD when i installed everthing on the ASUS board same temps as high as 56c in the bios, I then swapped CPUs PII 925 same H100i same high temps 50c in the bios for that CPU. then i swapped PSUs took out the XFX 850, put in a Ultra 550 and gtx 560ti. temps went down. after a few resets (u can hear the pumps initalize) temps returned. ruled the PSU out. mobo out, n we concluded CPUS dont overheat when they go bad. So i looked at my extension cables (il take pics) took them out temps went down again. figured they were the culprit. NOPE after a few reboots temps went up. that only leave the h100i, and thats when i started messing with the tubs and tapping the RAD

also when i first noticed the high temps, i ran prime and intel burn with NEGATIVE results. pc hard locked once and just shut down the other time when the NB hit 100c and the cpu hit 70c. Again lets say the CPU is idling at 41c CPU 29c package. I can just bend or pinch the tube and watch the temps go lower n lower n lower on both, in 5 secs it will stop at 32C CPU 16c package. my orginal temps from the gigabyte board were 11c (known idle temps sensor issue for "package") and 30c, never went over 45c with my 4.5. OC n higher volts 1.475. now ima at almost thermal threshold 55 56c STOCK no voltage increase. when the random increase started nothing was moved changed or updated that would effect cooling. BTW thos temps in my pictures, my case door is off. so raise that another 5c .... there it is im at 60c STOCK

Do you have LLC in the BIOS?  LLC is very important with FX CPU's...  I know because I don't have it (rev 1.0 GA-990FXA-UD7) and because of this OC'ing is almost impossible and idle temps are very high.  Just another avenue to explore before writing off the H100i

if you had an air cooler for a t1100 on it and the temp was lower i would say the water cooler is not working properly.  it might not be pumping the solution well. or it cant get rid of the heat at the radiator well enough.

when you pinch the tube down i would expect the cpu temp to rise because you are restricting the flow.

The 1090t im sure is not rated to cool the 8320, but yes it was approximately 5c cooler at that time. Now the temps did flucuate from 50c up.

Some times the pinch rasied the temps yes but that was after a serious tug and move. temps shot up to 70c under load b4 I shut down. Thats when I assumes maybe a clog or pump issue. The pump is solid at its rated RPMs 2300.

just trying to gather opinions. ima call newegg today spent thousands there they usually take care of me. corsair is getting a call one way or ther other. they have that useless link software that fails mor ethan it works. maybe they should focus on a app that detects failure as it could be critical

Newegg only has a 30 day RMA period, and afterward it is only via the manufacturer.

I got newegg to take care of me. got the rma all set up. Ill use my second pc for awhile until i get a replacement. Just hope this does the trick. if not im at a clear loss. all as i got to say the temps were way cooler day one install then just went outa control n stayed there. Called corsair, they pretty much cared less that i went through a wicked process of elimination. tech support said even tho the RPMs seem fine, there is something still wrong with the cooler. he said maybe no enough coolant or a blockage somewhere. conversation ended with why dont u add software that looks for these issues so my other hardware dont fry........ nailed it!!

deff the cooler 100%. i went an bought a rocketfish universal cpu cooler from bestbuy, (which is a cooler master tx3) 32c idle 45c load prime at stock. the h100i was 55c load at stock. awesome right. just didnt think a closed loop system could fail like that when the pump was running perfect. even cats over on corsair forms stated it cant be the cooler because of its simple in design (thats why i got the new mobo)

It could have been as simple as an air bubble in the lines, pumps don't like air, or a blockage in one of the main cold plate channels which kept liquid from reaching part of the CPU. It's a simple design but at the same time it is pretty complicated.

yup ur right, it was just difficult to pinpoint bc there were lil signs that point directly at the cooler. some even said "yup thats a sure sigh of a NB failure" some said my PSU was pumping to much power to the 12vlt rail. i was convinced that i fried something due to overclocking even tho temps were initially low. but in the end i got a way btr motherboard the ASUS sabertooth runs solid at 30 to 30c on the nb, the gigabyte board was just poorly cooled. at any rate thx for all your help n input man
