Okay, I'm getting a bit frustrated here.

I can find documentation from AMD listing the max temps for my other processors (Athlon II and Phenom II models) without any trouble. When I try to find the same info for the FX-8350 or any Vishera model, that field is missing from all spec sheets, and google doesn't help find it either. Tried to search these forums but that just the site telling me I've reached a page that cannot be found. This should be readily available information for consumers.

Is there anyone who can tell me what on earth the official maximum advised core and socket temperatures are for the FX-8350?

TJ Max for the FX-8350 is somewhere between 60 and 70C, try to keep it under 70C under load and things should be fine.

I appreciate the reply. I know that up to 70C has been evidenced as safe enough times for brief times for that to be the functional safe limit it seems. My problem is that when using the processor for benchmark competitions where +/- 1C of headroom will gain or lose enough points to be significant, I really need to feel confident in something beyond a loose range...

I'm not the only one I know who has search for this info and come up with only conflicting second-hand sources that say 62C-72C for the core and 70C-90C for the socket.

According to CPU World the max temperature for the FX-8150 is 61°C, and since the FX-8350 is most likely just a higher binned chip with higher stock clocks I would say that it should be kept below 60°C if possible and should never exceed 65°C.
