After flashing the BIOS on my ASUS M5A88-V EVO, CPU-Z now shows these bus speeds:

Core Speed: ~3515MHz

Bus Speed: ~200.9MHz

HT Link: ~2009MHz

NB Frequency: ~2009MHz

DRAM Frequency: ~669.6MHz

All settings in BIOS are [Auto], so I'm not deliberately overclocking anything. They displayed as whole numbers, such Core Speed: 3500MHz and Bus Speed: 200MHz, before flashing BIOS.

Why would these numbers change? Is BIOS overclocking my CPU without my input?

Yea, the multiplier is 17.5, and motherboards are generally incapable of regulating speeds exactly. It's normal to have a few megahertz difference, in your case the it is 0.9mhz x 17.5 = ~15mhz. My HT base clock, for example, runs at 200.66-200.7mhz, and multiplier of 19 making a final CPU clock of 3813mhz +/- ~0.4mhz

Here is a screenshot of my system after enabling DOCP for 1600MHz DRAM Frequency. The bus speed returned to ~200MHz, and the Core Speed returned to ~3500MHz; my system is much more responsive now.  Why does the multiplier read 'x 17.5 (4 - 17.5)' when it used to read 'x 17.5'?

RAM O.C.
