Hello

I just bought a new AMD FX-8350 and its great!!

The only thing about it is that its always running with a core speed of 4100mhz on all cores and it drops to 1400MHz on some of them. Idle temp is only at 25c so its not hot, but fan is always at 4500+ rpm.

so first question: Is it normal to always be on full speed?

and second question: is it normal with 1 sec 1400MHz drops on core 3-8

Asus sabertooth 990FX v 2

AMD FX-8350 4.0ghz

Corsair vengeance 1600mhz (8gb)

His Radeon 5770

adata 120gb ssd

WD caviar green 2tb

CoolerMaster HAF X

Windows 7 ultimate

Depends, do you have the power saving features enabled?

Thanks!!!

I checked my Bios and found out that cool'n'quiet and C1E was disabled. Its now enabled and lowered the core speed, temprature and fan speed. I still think im going to get a new cpu cooler for lower Db but its alot better then it was before with temps at 18c idle.

I would suggest a closed loop liquid cooler, both for the quiet operation and because it will give you plenty of headroom should you decide to OC it.
