I can get some good chips for cheap, I just added in an HD 6970 to my old computer and was wondering what chips out right now would work with my old chipset AM2+ if I remember right.

EDIT: Current chip Model : AMD Phenom(tm) 9850 Quad-Core Processor

Chipset

Model : AMD (Family 10h) Athlon64/Opteron/Sempron HyperTransport Technology Configuration

Front Side Bus Speed : 2x 2GHz (4GHz)

Total Memory : 4GB DIMM DDR2

Memory Bus Speed : 2x 400MHz (800MHz)

In the process of building my new FX 8350 system and was hoping to breathe some more life into my old one.

Thanks!

First you got to find out what make and model of motherboard your using then go to they'er web site and find the cpu support list for your board.

Since your using the 9850 there's a good chance that your can run a phenomII quad-core but since they don't make them anymore they might be hard to find.

Personly I wouldn't put anymore money in that old AM2+ system
