I purchased the 6800k two weeks ago just to find out that the new 7850k was comming out today. Newegg is going to let me return the 6800k if I want. Is the 7850k worth an extra $50 plus the 2 week or so down time? I am more concerned about everyday computing speed as aposed to better graphics rendering. What should I do?

Read This review, it compares the 6800k and 7850k, along with some others.

So it sounds like the only reason it would be better is better graphics proccessor and if a program could use HSA? But the 6800k is faster at computing?

Well it's like they say, they upped the IPC capability but reduced the clock, but it shouldn't take much to bump the 7850 to 4.1ghz to match the 6800k (it only took them 0.04v), in which case you would end up with better performance all around.

Ryan, did  you purchase an FM2+ motherboard? The Kaveri won't plug into FM2 sockets.

No I just have an FM2 but if I have to return the APU I can just return the Motherboard at the same time.

7850K is around 3% better, iGPU more (around 15-20%). But IPC is 10-15% better at Kaveri clock to clock, so I take Kaveri
