Hello,

I am going to upgrade my cpu totally for average gaming. I already have a AMD Radeon HD 6770 1 GB GDDR5. I am stuck between processor. I am not able to solve this problem that which processor I need most for future games; A10 7850K or FX 8350.

I am going to buy 4 or 8 GB RAM and motherboard dependent of the processor I will choose.

So, please help me to choose the right processor. Here are a few things related to this....

1. Multitasking is not necessary for me

2. The only thing I need is to play future games and also present latest games (I have heard that in future games will demand more cores, is it correct?? However, no one knows what will happen in the future)

3. Gaming performance matters me most, the game must be playable.

Since, A10 7850 has an integrated graphics (R7) and with my radeon hd 6770 will the game perform better than it will on FX 8350 with my 6770..??? If YES then I think that my problem is solved..

Thanks in Advanced

If you are aiming towards "future" I'd get an 8350. easily. Because a 6770 should perform faster then a 7850K intergrated GPU.(which is basically a DDR3 version of a 7750 albeit won't be much faster)

And no you can't get get a 7850K integrated graphics to work with a 6770.

Sooo. if it were me it would be a 8350K all day long and some form of Nvidia video card. 760/ 750TI.

Can't really say much about AMD cards atm due to how extremely overpriced they are due to bitcoin miners.

I think the larger question is "What will be required to futureproof against games", and that is a big question mark with console games now running traditional x86/x64 code, and AMD Mantle and DirectX 12 providing lower level hardware access for less CPU overhead. Since you do not multitask, and we know how non server and HPC applications, including Windows scheduler, do not take advantage of the Bulldozer based architecture, a FX-6350 is an option.

My card 6770 will be useless with a10 7850k. You said that it is incompatible with 6770, Right??

If this is the case, then I must buy the FX 8350..

BUT

here, http://www.pc-specs.com/cpu/AMD/APU_Family/APU_A10-7850k/1959/Compatible_GPUs

it says that 6770 is compatible with a10 7850K...

Also see this.. http://www.pc-specs.com/gpu/AMD/HD_6000_Series/Radeon_HD_6770/485/Compatible_CPUs

Your GPU (and most others) will work as a DISCREET GPU, but it will not crossfire/dual graphics with the APU's own onboard video.

I'm just browsing some 3d mark results and the 6770 paired with the 8350 appears to score about 10% higher than a 6770 paired with the a10 7850.

Another comparison I'm seeing is the a10 with a 7970 gpu is 33% lower scored than with the 8350.

Get the 8350 and when you can, get a better vidcard.
