I have an Asus Sabertooth 990fx MB r2.0, which says it supports perfectly. I also have a source of OCZ 1000w installed. The motherboard does not seem to be supporting, or source, and use only one video card hd 6950, and an SSD. I bought a weaker processor to test a Sempron 145 and perfectly worked use a water cooler from corsair h60. What do I do?

And for the record, already updated the bios.

Have you updated to the proper BIOS to support the FX-9370? If not you'll need to.

I'd suggest you check the H60 to be sure it's mounted properly. It's WAY too small of a cooler to cool an FX-9370 CPU that has a 220w TDP but you should be able to run the system for a few minutes at light loads before it overheats. The CPU will shut the system down when it overheats.

The max core temp for the FX-9xxx series is suspected to be the same as the FX-8xxx series which is 61C. AMD has never posted the proper temps for most of the newer CPUs so there is no known exact max core temp posted.

FYI - Core temp and CPU temp are not the same thing. The applet Core Temp shows the internal core temp which is lower than the CPU temp which often reads 10C-25C higher than the internal core temp depending on the load and length of time the load is applied.

If you already updated your BOIS to 2301 then you should be fine there and I don't think its overheating because it should run for few minutes from a cold start.

Is your PC even booting up or is it shuting down 10 seconds after you hit the power button?

The OP said it works fine with a Sempron.

When you boot a PC the CPU goes to full power and load so it could very well be overheated in 5-10 seconds or by the time he gets into the O/S with a cooler issue.

I do not believe any Asus motherboard from the last 2 or years can support that much CPU power, the regulators are not capable.

You will need to find a model that can support the higher power processors.

You would be wrong Vegan, as ASUS clearly lists the 9370 as supported since BIOS version 1708. After it shuts down and you reboot, are you able to open the event viewer (or the details pane of the Windows has recovered from an unexpected shutdown) and get a code? Also, with the Semptron installed run Prime95 to verify the H60 is working correctly.
