The AMD FX-8xxx series has 4x Dual Core modules = 8 real cores. The nonsense always is over if a dual core module is really two cores because it has one shared floating point unit vs. two FPUs.

In fact the dual core modules are two genuine cores and they do process two bits of data concurrently. The dual core modules may not process floating point data as fast as modules with a dedicated floating point unit per core does, but you don't need a floating point unit for all processing so it's often redundant and the reason why AMD uses one vs. two.

Yep, it's a fake but still a good CPU and much better than the old Phenom X8

It's technically ignorant to make such false claims such as "it's a fake", which is totally untrue and a disservice to people looking for accurate technical information on CPUs.

You should refrain from such immature and inaccurate posts.

It is a fake octalcore. It is an 8 integer, 4 floating point processor CPU.

As for you AMDforMe, you spam this thread with inaccurate posts all the time, so talk about the pot calling the kettle black.

I find it odd they let him stay here with all his BS copy and paste posts!

All it does is confuse people with inaccurate information on the product they are having issues with!

We need to dig up some articles on the dangers of a tower style heatsink, such as a broken socket and CPU, or damaged video cards due to the falling chunk of metal.
