I inherited a semi built server with an Opteron 6136 CPU and a passive cooler (copper).  The server is running fine however the temps are always in the high 40s and occasionally I get a warning from our server monitor software that they are running higher.

Is there a suitable CPU cooler that could be added to the copper heatsink or should the passive copper heatsink do the job?

There should be good airflow with a bank of FANs the width of the server drawing air in from the front.  Location of the server is a well air-cond data centre.

The server is running a decent load, 5+ VMs with low to occasionally medium load.

TIA for any tips
