My mobo has 6 SATA ports that support AHCI and RAID.

Port 1 to 4 connected to 4 empty harddisk, and port 5 connected to a harddisk that has Windows installed.

BIOS settings are port 1-4 AHCI mode, port 5-6 IDE compatible mode

After installed the AMD AHCI Compatible RAID driver and RAIDXpert, it can shows port 1-4 harddisk in RAIDXpert.

Then I changed BIOS settings of port 5-6 to disable IDE compatible mode (means change to AHCI mode), now I can't get into Windows anymore.

Search the web for "How to enable MSAHCI.SYS", it's a registry mod to enable AHCI support after installing Windows without using AHCI.

I have check the registry value of "msahci", its value is already set to "0", which should means enable.

 

According to Microsoft KB, modify the value of "msahci" is for those who encounter BSOD.

 

But I haven't encounter any BSOD, my case is just a black screen with a white cursor flashing at the top-left corner.

I don't use AMD processors, but normally "0" does not equal 'enable'. My experience has been that "1" = enable.

With your BIOS/UEFI settings for ports 1-4 set to AHCI.....restart back into your BIOS/UEFI, do you see your drives listed in there for ports 1-4?  If yes now you may have to select your boot drive again....then hit F10...yes.....restart....do you get into your OS?
