I'm running an Intel SSD 330 120GB in RAID mode (but alone; there is a different array present) on a Asus M4A89GTD Pro, with AMD 890GX chipset. In AMD management app, controller is set to SMART and disk is communicating SMART status as healthy.

But in Intel SSD Toolbox, serial is not properly read and no SMART info is available. There is any known compatibility issue with Intel SSDs? Info is nt properly relayed via the driver?

Intel did an update which made the issue even worse now, so topic was open on their support forum at:

The issue is you are in RAID mode in your BIOS/UEFI, if you switched it to AHCI you would be good.  The new Intel Chipsets are said to now allow SMART (and TRIM commands) info to pass through in a RAID configuration, but on AMD's side that is not the case.

Valid observation, thanks. But in terms of behaviour, there is no change with all 6 SATA ports in AHCI!

Any other idea?

Well, based on the post quoted below, it would appear to be an Intel issue if the issue was not present in a previous version release of that application.....that would be my best guess.

That is assuming, of coarse, that you have your SB driver for AHCI support installed and enabled with your BIOS/UEFI as well as within the registry.
