i need the driver for the 785gx/sb850 . however the northbridge is part of the 7 series, while the southbride is part of the 8 series, so which should i use

operating system: win xp 32bit

system: inspiron m5030

 

more specifically i was needing the ahci drivers so i can install xp

That's a laptop, not a desktop, Dell provides all support.

So why don't you just put Windows 7 back on and stop trying to live in the bronze age of Windows XP?

one of the few legitimate answers to use xp

because i have several old games and a few other programs that will not run in windows 7,or are very unstable, and there are no patches to fix the issue, nor does any fix ive tried

So why not do like the rest of us and build, or buy, a cheap desktop and KVM switch for legacy gaming?
