The device in question is this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/USB-to-PS2-Cable-Adapter-Converter-keyboard-Mouse-/260750036138?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3cb5e9ccaa

It works on a core 2 quad PC but not with an AMD A6 laptop. This is with chipset drivers 13.1

The error shown in device manager was that the USB device is unrecognized. I tried manually applying the proper Microsoft driver but it fails to initialize.
