I am trying to add a video card to my PC (ECS A740GM-M) and no matter how much I try I can not install the chipset drivers which I downloaded from the AMD page at the end I get the blue screen with some sort KERNEL SECURITY ERROR. Even without those drivers when I add the second card apparently the on board video card is disabled is there any other way to add a second monitor to my computer? I am running Windows 8.1 with an AMD Phenom CPU..your help is greatly appreciated.

Forgot to mention that I was unable to add the second video card when I was running Windows XP. I have looked into the BIOS and there is not anything setting related to a second video card or similar

usually integrated video is disabled when a card is attached

you should attach the monitor to the video card

more rig specifics would be helpful
