Hello, I have a HP DV6-3090BR notebook that has two graphics cards, a Radeon 4200 series and a Radeon 5650 dedicated.

I'm using the version 12.4 of the catalyst but I want to upgrade to version 12.6, but I'm having problems after installing 12.6. After installation the AMD PowerXpress settings disappear and when I try to open the graphics options an error occurs saying that the driver is not installed.

I already tried reinstalling the driver several times, but the error keeps happening, and also after the upgrade all the games stop working.

I believe that such problems occurs because the 12.6 do not support the 4xxx series, only the series 5xxx.

So I was wondering if I'll stick to the 12.4 even when I have hardware capable of running 12.6 or is there something I can do to update my drivers?

  My Notebook Specs:

AMD Phenom II X4 P920 (1.6GHZ)

Mobility Radeon 5650 1GB and Mobility Radeon 4200 series.

6GB DDR3

Windows 7 64bit

Important!
The AMD Mobility Radeon Driver Verification tool helps you determine your notebook’s compatibility with generic AMD Catalyst Mobility drivers. It helps to prevent incorrect installation on incompatible notebooks which may lead to disabled features or functionality.
If you experience difficulty while using the generic AMD Catalyst Mobility drivers, we recommend reverting to the driver provided by your notebook vendor. Please contact your notebook vendor for their most recent graphics drivers.
The following notebooks are not compatible with this tool:
Notebooks equipped with switchable graphics
