Hey guys !

Purchased an ultrabook with these specs : Intel i5 3317U - Intel HD 4000

                                                              AMD HD 7670M 2 GB ddr3

                                                              6 GB 1600 RAM

I got it with preinstalled AMD drivers which worked quite well but on some games i get bad FPS drops which make gameplay unenjoyable. The AMD driver was released back in MAY !!! I mean only compiled.. God knows when the core driver was released.

Problem is when i try to update it the AUTO UPDATE on AMD s site says i dont have an AMD Graphics card in my lappy. Device manager sees my card as AMD 7670M.
I tried installing 12.6 WHQL manually but an even greater problem rose !!!! I lost the switchable graphics option and cant Set applications to switch between the integrated and the High Performance graphics.

How can i update my lappy to 12.6 or 12.7 beta from an outdated driver compiled in MAY without loosing the switchable graphics option ? I must not lose  that option because of the great battery life when not playing games.

Please help.

AMD's drivers don't support switchable graphics. Your only choice is the driver from the laptops maker.

I just wasted 1000 $ then :/ Damn. It works fine and most of the times infact it doesnt ever give me blue screen, plays hd videos fine, plays games fine but on some games it is laggy(huge problem for me) .

Only Metro 2033 couldnt start because it cant see my AMD card only the Intel HD 4000 aaaaand it even says it doesnt support lappy graphics (Intel HD)
Thankfully i bought that game for my desktop Comp not for the lappy.

Is there a way maybe to only update the core Graphics driver of the AMD card ? Mine has a version of 8.933.3.3   . I tried the manual way but everything i tried took away the switchable graphics option
