I've downloaded the catalyst launcher.  I install from the exe file in the AMD folder on C drive and the download window pops up and when i push Start Download a pop up comes up and said "yadda has been cancelled" and i tried pushing start download again and it doesnt download anything at all the second time and no pop up that says its cancelled.

i also tried the program that detects my settings and gives me an error pop up saying i dont have the right graphics adapter

i qualify to install from AMD.  i've always installed amd drivers from amd.  those posts are from last year ive updated drivers several times this year from amd not hp

i want to install 12.8 from amd!!

As a courtesy, AMD provides reference drivers through the AMD Mobility Radeon Driver Verification Tool, however, the driver is validated by the installation tool.

Normally, you will see the error "AMD Catalyst Mobility cannot be downloaded due to incompatible hardware/software on your computer. Your computer does not contain a proper graphics adapter" for situations where AMD offers a reference driver that is incompatible for your notebook. For your specific case, you may need to install the reconfigured (OEM) driver directly from HP if you received the error mentioned.

Hi well did you read the release notes for this driver release in case you did not heres a bit of it.

The following notebooks are not compatible with this release:

• Any notebook launched after this driver release.
• Switchable Graphics enabled notebooks.
• Toshiba notebooks (please contact the notebook OEM for driver support for these. notebooks)
• Sony VAIO notebooks (please contact the notebook OEM for driver support for these notebooks)
• Panasonic notebooks (please contact the notebook OEM for driver support for these notebooks

This is the part you need to understand.  Switchable Graphics enabled notebooks. As you have a card in it and also the video on the cpu thats what you have.

yes you pointed out a contradiction there.  it also says the update is available for 6620G as well.

Hi yes before you download a video driver you need to read the release notes and even though that driver may support your card look at the fixes in the driver. If none of the fixes include your card you will gain nothing from the new drivers most people like to get them to say they have the new drivers even if it makes your older card run worse.
