I was able to update my AMD Radeon HD 6310 Graphics drivers through Steam and the Driver Version is now 8.961.0.0. My problem is that after updating the driver, I restarted my laptop and I immediately noticed that the screen brightness was kinda awkward. While surfing the web with Chrome, the screen's brightness is kinda off and annoying (It's hard to explain sorry). It wasn't like that before. Also, the font was a bit blurry. When I click the start menu button, the font of the programs is blurry and ugly. I also noticed something annoying wherein while surfing the web, the screen would suddenly go brighter or darker at certain times. It's like the brightness would suddenly go up or down by one level at random times. It's kinda annoying. Is there any fix for this or am I gonna have to live with this? Before I updated my drivers, everything was fine.

I hope you learned your lesson. Don't let steam install your drivers. Do it yourself through AMD's driver download section. Or your manufacturers driver support download page. (Steams driver installer is less then steller and often messes up things its not even supposed to be releated to. No idea why they released it. Its trash)

So uninstall the drivers. Then install the ones that were working for you before.

The same thing. I am using Asus X53U laptop and there are no official video drivers for Windows XP, I've installed some other video driver, and the brightness goes lower and higher automatically, depending on what is shown on the display at the moment. This is very uncomfortable, I know that it is some ATI technology in the driver, does anyone know hot to turn it off? Really annoying!

No ideas?
