I have a Samsung 7 series notebook, Model number: NP700Z5B-S01UB. It contains an AMD HD6490M GDDR5 512MB graphics card. However, the notebook seems to only use the Mobile Intel HD Graphics card inherent in the motherboard. I know this because it is what comes up when I run dxdiag which states it's using a 258MB card.

I have already updated the drivers several times. I have updated my BIOS. I have made contact with Samsung Support. They only told me to update my drivers. I even tried turning dxdiag.exe to be set for High Performance in the Catalyst Control Center's section for "Switchable Graphics".

Please help me, AMD Forums! You're my only hope!

Samsung notebook with Intel switchable graphics means Samsung provides all support.

Yeah. All that amounted to was "Update your drivers" 4 times in a conversation that I opened with "I have already updated my drivers." Was just hoping someone would have a solution as opposed to "support".

I would bet you aren't the only one with this model laptop that has this issue. You should read and/or post in the Samsung forum for how to do this > http://forum.notebookreview.com/samsung/
