My game crashed until I updated my graphics card driver.  Then it worked fine until I updated the game itself.  It started off freezing a little then it got more frequent and now it freezes every 20-30 seconds.  EA said that my graphics card is not capable of playing the game even though the supported graphics cards are all significantly older.  Not sure how a more advanced graphics card can't do something that a less advanced card can do but I thought maybe someone on here might have some insight.

I think it is important to notate that resetSim * worked wonders.  My in game clock still jumps time and occassionally it freezes like when it switches from night to day.  I ran the compatibility test on this site and it says my system is more than capable of running the game.  Does anyone else have this issue?
