Hello,

I have bought a new PC: ASUS X54H with Windows 8 x64 and a AMD ATI HD7470M card. With this configuration I am having serious problems with the same game (Tropico 4) that I was previously running perfectly on the same laptop with Windows 7 x64 (I have updated to Windows 8 just a couple of days ago). Particularly, the game crashes very often.

I have serched the internet for information and I discovered that there is no official driver for Windows 8 and my laptop video card. So I tried to install the Catalyst package from the AMD website (among the other cards also mine was present), however after that the game crash even more than before.

I tried to use compatibility settings with Windows 7 and Vista but this did not solved the problem.

If I try to use the automatic detection system for the driver downloadable from the AMD website it fails saying it is not compatible with my system.

Please how can I solve this issue? Why there is not an official driver for my video card?? This is absurd!

You must get your drivers from asus.

On the ASUS website there is no driver for it. Actually I think this is a AMD card issue, so I suppose that AMD should provide a driver (as for instance for the desktop cards).

Come on! This PC is new (end of September 2012) and sold as "Windows 8 ready"! In the shop they didn't put on it a note like "buy it at your own risk, ASUS and AMD do not care if this will not work fine with Windows 8, they just want your money", otherwise I would have gone for something different.. 

They also provide me with a discount to upgrate to Windows 8 as soon as it came out (I paid  it 14 euro instead of 40).
