Hi every one,
My HP ProBook 4535s, with AMD Radeon 6480G + 7400M, refuse to play Audio through HDMI port (video pass well but no sound). I've installed all the latest drivers from the HP website (BIOS, Graphics, Audio...), all the cards have been well installed, except a yellow exclamation point in one of two "High Definition Audio Controller" but I dont have Digital Audio (HDMI) in Control Panel/Sound/Playback (only Speakers).
Any idea to fix that?
Thanks,
I've tried the latest AMD Catalyst, 13.1, but no use

The Catalyst creator mentions a fix for that

Thanks Stumped,
The Catalyst didn't tell so much. He said that "the proper files" on AMD website would solve the problem. I used the latest Catalyst suite date on 17/01/13 but still no HDMI audio

Well that post he made was on 1/18...so, i would go to the link he provided http://www.amd.com/us/Pages/AMDHomePage.aspx and use the "find a driver" for the new one. Don't use the autodetect.

You can try these, if no luck, then you will have to get the drivers from HP. Did this laptop come with Win8, or did you upgrade from Win 7 ? Is your bios current?

Thanks,
I'm dowloading the WHQL driver, this is the last chance because I've tried already the drive from HP and it didn't work for HDMI audio.

Just for information, the WHQL driver didn't help. I have to wait for the next release of Catalyst now.

If you've tried installing all the latest drivers from HP. Try the Realtek HDMI driver. It's labeled "ATI HDMI Audio Device" when you go to their download page.
Here is the link:
http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/
Click on "High Definition Audio Codecs (Software)."
If that doesn't work. Install Catalyst 12.2, but only selct the HDMI driver when installing if that's the only thing you want to install. If installing on Windows 8, install in Compatibility for Windows 7.

Hi Guys,
Thanks for trying to help me.
Jorge007: Realtek HDMI_R270 didn't work for me. It says something like "No Driver was supported in this driver package".
I tried Catalyst 12.2 but didn't find where to select the HDMI driver (only: AMD Catalyst Install Manager, AMD APP SDK Runtime, AMD Display Driver, AMD Sata Controller and Catalyst Control Center).
Mathew_milera85: your suggestion is to install another OS in dual boot???

That was a Spambot, Prusten. I have removed the post and dealt with the "user."

I don't think it is a driver problem. I have been fighting a similar issue for months. If you reboot with the TV powered on and connected directly to the PC via HDMI, do you have sound?
If so, check the TV Menu for a INLINK setting. MAke sure it is enabled as well as the power on/off settings. It might not be called INLINK, but I think that is an industry standard. Either way, this is the setting in your TV that is suppose to control HDMI devices connected to it. i.e. When you turn off TV, it turns of other devices.
As soon as I enabled it, I was abled to get sound back after cycling power to TV.
