I have HP Pavilion G6 1200tx with AMD Radeon HD 6470M (1 GB DDR3 dedicated) graphics card installed in it. Everything was working fine when i was using window 7. Until one day when i insatlled windows 8 Pro (64 bit) on my lappy. After that i dwonloaded the AMD High-Definition (HD) Graphics Driver from hp ssite which is

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=ob-110689-1&cc=in&dlc=en&lc=en&os=4132&product=5163238&sw_lang=

after installing in device manager i found that only Intel Graphics 3000 was installed. i thought of re installing the driver but i found that the driver software coundn't detect my ati grahci card. then i  tried to upate driver software from internet then somthing AMD Radeon HD 6400M Series (Engineering Sample - WDDM v1.20) was added in my display adapters but still in DXDIAG my ati 1gb grch crd was missing. Then i tried to install the ati graphc crd driver v3.0.816.0 which was installed in when i was using windows 7. this driver software could detect my ATI display driver . after installing it the driver was succesfully installed. but after few minutes my screen started flickering. i restarted my lappy but still screen was flickering. I have to restore my lappy then which removed the ati graphc crd driver v3.0.816.0 from my lappy.

I have tried everything, googled, searched on hp forum but nothing worked. i am relly sick of it. All my games are running slow. i really want my ati grphc crd driver to be installed in my lappy, also i dont want to windows 7 now. So, pls HELP how can i install the display driver on windows 8

That was the correct (and only) way to do it. If it didn't work, you should contact HP and complain/ask for assistance.

In the meantime, you could try again but this time, do a clean install. You'll find a tutorial in the FAQ section. Use the driver package you linked to.

Also don't forget to disable video card driver updates from windows update.

I have done it several times but still th problem is not solved. I think the problem is that the AMD hasn't made a driver software compactiable with my Radeon 6470 graphic card. Because once i downloaded the AMD Driver Autodetect . But even that couldn't detect my display driver.

So I request AMD to look at my problem and make a Radeon 6470 compactiable driver for windows 8 Please. You could not just let down the old customers..
