So this is a problem that has been going on for more than a year now. There has been no support for the 7690M XT from AMD whatsoever because they claim that HP is the one that is suppose to push out driver updates for this graphics card. However HP claims that AMD should be the one to support the graphics card because it's their product...

What I find ammusing is that this is a Radeon card, yet AMD can tell consumers with a straight face that it isn't. They don't even list it on the AMD product page when the product is labeled as an AMD product and recognized as an AMD product.

Its an OEM product that was made only for OEMs. Its not an AMD Product its an OEM product made by AMD for HP.

Had HP of actually gone with a 7770M or the like you would have gotten AMD driver support because thats an official AMD mobility card. (it also would have cost more)

Its no different then when asus makes OEM boards for HP. Asus doesn't support them, nor do they have any related information for those boards. Its up to HP to support them.

With that being said the card is also a rebranded 6770M so you may be able use the amd modded mobility drivers (non official you can google them)

There's obviously some miscommunication here then between the 2 if HP is telling consumers to get driver updates from AMD. In the end it's the consumer that gets screwed over from getting updates while the 2 companies get their pay.

Learned something new today that products made for OEMs aren't considered a product from the manufacturer. Good to know Asus does this as well. Maybe I'm just slow, but you'd think a product which Company X makes and labeled as Company X's product would have to be supported by Company X.

Didn't expect anything to be done anyways, just wanted to blow off some steam. Off to Leshcats I go
