Greetingd AMD Forums

I'm currently in a bit of a pickle and very confused. My current laptop is a HP Dv6 laptop with switchable graphics and AMD site is very confusing as to what I'm meant to do about drivers for switchable graphics and need your help.

I did discover the auto detect device that has updated my 4XXX series to a 2012 driver update however my 5470 says it's drivers are still the 2010 version?

HP Dv6-3025sa Entertainment Notebook Laptop

Graphics Card - ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5470 with M880G - ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4200 series.

4200 series (recently updated)

Driver Provider: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc.

Driver Date: 16/11/2012

Driver Version: 8.970.100.7000

Digital Signer: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc.

5470 (wasn't updated along with 4200 with autodetect)

Driver Provider: ATI Technologies Inc

Driver Date: 19/9/2010

Driver Version: 8.770.2.1000

Digital Signer: Microsoft Windows Hardware Combatibility Publisher

IMPORTANT: With the autodetect update to the 4200 series, I have noticed an improvement with the current game I am playing (mass effect 1), loads faster and feels smoother but my laptop is in performance mode and is using 5470, has the 4200 update affected the 5470 too?

OS - Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit

CPU - AMD Turion(tm) II P520 Dual Core

Don't think you'd need more information that this (my first time on the forums let me know if you need more spec info.)

I'm not the greatest with technology so provided as much info about my GPU as I can.

Hope someone can help.

Thanks but the drivers provided by HP support are from 2010... So there hasn't been a single update from AMD in 3 years as this GPU was released in 2010.. Every other GPU gets updated drivers every so often.

Made this thread in hopes of finding the newest drivers for this mobility GPU as I doubt HP are providing the latest drivers or maybe someone knows where to look as I've used their searching addon to see what systems/drivers etc are out of date for my specific laptop.. They only show 2 to 3 year out of date updates.

The same thing happened to me, except I no longer have control over which gpu I am using. I am stuck with the integrated one. The 5470 does not appear on the device manager, and ATI powerplay + CCC has been replaced with the vision engine control center, which sucks.

Any help???
