As far as I know, the Enduro is not working on DirectX 7-8 applications. Therefore GPU switching is not working on these games even we set high performance and we get low performance because of integrated gpu.

I tried Simcity 4, Counter Strike 1.6 Online, Metin 2, Knight Online (pvp server which has DirectX8) to work with my 7670m but it didn't switch no matter what I've done. Because of that we're getting sometimes 25 fps on LOW on these games instead of maybe over 100 fps on HIGH.

Enduro is working fine with DirectX 9 to 11 and OpenGL applications. Can't you add Directx 8 support too? With that, the Enduro will be really good. It's OK that Enduro is not working with Directx 7 since integrated gpu can deal with it but we really need DirectX 8 support because as I mentioned above, integrated gpu can't deal with it some cases.

Please add DirectX 8 support to the Enduro, I know that many people of using Mobility Radeon will be happy.

Thanks, however I'm already using 13.3 Beta driver and having those issues. These are directly related with AMD Enduro technology, I believe.

Enduro updates differntly depending on the laptop you have. Check with your manufacturer to find out how to do it.

I'm not talking about Enduro drivers (Intel HD Graphics + AMD Mobility combine), I'm talking about its technology. Switchable Graphics that it was called before, now is Enduro like Nvidia's Optimus. Manufacturers can do only compatible drivers to their laptops, it AMD's hand to add any support to Enduro since the technology itself belong to them.

I misread..I read Win8..not dx8. Send a report to AMD support. You will find the forms in "How to and FAQ".

Thank you, will do. I tried a raise ticket but web browsers always keep saying this after I select anything on "Product Line"

"Sys.WebForms.PageRequestManagerServerErrorException: An unknown error occurred while processing the request on the server. The status code returned from the server was: 500"

Therefore I can't raise any ticket. Can this be solve? Or Is there any alternative way to raise ticket? If not, I'll take my chances on Issue Reporting Form.

I don't know what country you are in? If you get that error ..try later or use the telephone number. If it was me I would us the issue reporting form anyhow. "The squeaking wheel gets the grease" I always say. At least you may get a answer

You're certainly right. Need to do something. I'm going to fill the issue reporting form. I would call AMD Center but I can't trust my English grammer (I live in Turkey b t w). Maybe will try later though if I run out of options.

I will post here if anything go forwards. I hope that AMD adds DirectX 8 to the Enduro. Cheers!

From what I've read, DX11 is not backward compatible to DX8. The last version that supported DX8 was DX9. Try and install DX9 as a addition to the DX11 you already have. It installs a seperate version. Can't hurt to try... > http://www.filehippo.com/download_directx/

I just tried that but it still doesn't switch to 7670m, checked on AMD System Monitor and MSI Afterburner... Other applications that released after 2003 (which they have Directx 9) work very well.

I sent detailed report to the issue reporting form, hope that they will answer. Raise a ticket doesn't work for me, I still get the error from above.

Btw, is there a way to upgrade these DX8 applications to DX9? I tried a trick with some third party program to do that such as RadeonPro but didn't work. If we can do that, then I believe there will be no problem since the Enduro work just fine with Directx 9. Though I'm sure to do that is not easy...

Hello people. I think I have found the problem after two months and I want to share with you.

The problem is, Intel HD Graphics 4000 (for who has it) does not up to 1.100 MHz clock speed for some games. As I checked on Intel Extreme Tuning Utility, Intel HD 4000 never goes above from 350 MHz and I think that's why we get low FPS on the games.

Now, this is not happen all the time. For example, Intel HD 4000 runs at 1.100 MHz in Call of Duty MW 1-2 and many other games with no problems. Already, I do not run these games with HD 4000. I run instead with 7670M because it is much better.

But in SimCity 4, Counter Strike 1.6 Online and many other games, we had no choice but to use HD 4000 Graphics because of Enduro lacks DirectX 7-8 support. And because of Intel HD 4000 works at 350 MHz on these games like running on idle mode, this causes lagging and low performance than usual.

Intel has released the new driver for HD 4000 at March which is 15.31.3.64.3071 version and is currently latest. My friend recommends this update to me because he said it worked for him. Now on this driver, HD 4000's clock range actually can up from 350 MHz to 1.100 ALL THE TIME! I had HUGE performance gain, before I was getting 25 FPS on LOW settings with the old Intel driver (Dec 2012) and after install the new driver, I get 70-120 FPS on HIGH settings in the certain games which they work with HD 4000. I was really amazed and happy. Never expected such a performance up through the driver. I was thought the problem is finally solved. Unfortunately, the driver has stability problems.

While the latest, 3071, Intel graphic driver has installed, the games work with 7670M (with 13.4 WHQL) does not run correctly anymore. I had black screens that shaken on the screen in many games which did not happen before with the old Intel driver. When I tried to open these games with HD 4000, they worked without stability problems but since HD 4000 is not a great card, I could not played those games smoothly. Only if I open morphological filtering from the Catalyst, black screens disappear but this feature has a significant impact to FPS. It locks FPS to 25-30 range which is causes lag while playing with 7670M. In the end, many games became unplayable for me, so I had to uninstall (which is really sad) the new driver and back to the old. Of course, my huge performance gain from the new driver has gone.

I asked about it to Intel support forum and they could not gave me a proper answer. They said that the latest Intel driver should work fine but for this, the OEM needs to configure, then release the driver to their costumers. Since the OEMs' drivers take a few years to update, I think I'll wait more compatible drivers from both AMD and Intel for work well together. They were working very well until the latest Intel graphic driver.

I do not think AMD is going to add DirectX 7 or 8 support to Enduro. This will not be needed already if Intel manage to solve it, so I'll take my chances on Intel. Since they aware the problem now, I hope they will fix the issues through with the new drivers.

I will write here again if anything go forwards. Cheers
