Hi guys,

I have just bought a m17x R4, with a 3740QM and a 7970m.

Anyway, for work I spend quite a bit of time working on LiDar data, which is essentially a collection of points in a 3d environment.  So I might have 20 million points, displayed as dots, on my screen.  Software is RiSCAN.

As you can probably understand this is pretty graphics intensive.

Anyway, my old laptop PC (n53sv which had an old GT540M) my previous desktop (3 core Phenom II with 4870m) and my current Desktop with a 680m (3770k) ran the software very well.

This thing however will not.  I notice no performance difference between the built in INTEL hd4000 and the 7970m...  I've disabled the HD4000 as well (fn f7) and it doesn't seem to make any difference.  It's exceptionally slow.

Anyway, I thought i'd post here on the off chance someone else is running the same setup or a similar one, or has had problems with new ATI cards, in 3d point clouds.

I know it's a long shot.

I've tried a few different drivers etc, but it's still laggy as hell."
