After of upgrade my Driver to Catalyst Driver Package 13.4 - I rebooted my PC and the screen Seems be SPLITTED in 3 Columns. The Mouse cursor can be moved from the Left To the Right and it pass along the 3 columns...

[------------------------------]

[         |               |            ]

[         |               |            ]

[         |               |            ]

[         |               |            ]

[------------------------------]

Something like that, It's that is happening.

I made a CLEAN INSTALLATION (Uninstall the previous Driver - 12.1 with the ADD/REMOVE WINDOWS APPLET); so then I proceed to install the Catalyst Driver Package 13.4 and then I get that WEIRD effect!

With the VGA-SAFE Driver works "normal".

This is what is happening.

Some times - At the first Windows Screen (login), get a good "SCREEN".

Some times - get a weired "SCREEN".

But if the PC goes and back To/From Stand by or Screen Saver - probably FIX the SCREEN WEIRED 3 COLUMNS SPLIT SCREEN!

I'm guessing you are using Windows 7, so use the AMD Catalyst Uninstaller. Here

Thanks... I've Give it up!

For me... It was just another Catalyst Package Driver Fail... The only way to "FIX" this issue was GOING TO SUSPEND AND THEN GOING BACK.

So I was "FORCED" to downgrade my Catalyst Package to 13.1 - I guess that I must wait to the next Catalyst Release to TEST if that package works fine to me!

Ok... ATI/AMD Catalyst 13.4 mess up / Screw-up or something else with my ATI 6250 HD... I thought that if I format my HDD (Low Level), Then install the OS (Windows 7) and then install the previous Catalyst Package (13.1) will fix the issue - BUT NO - It doesn't happend.

Even after the set up of my system, the issue still happening (each time that the OS goes to suspend / stand by, and get back from that state - the screen will be sliced / split in 3 columns); and the worst thing is It issue happen at BIOS-POST time.

Please ATI Engineers; Promise that the next catalyst package will fix this issue - or It will not mess-up more my GPU. It horrible see that a package driver which say support my GPU (because my GPU model appear in the list of GPU supported) and promise (well... It doesn't) improve the performance (O.o At least that is what I'm expecting), in the end - It damage the GPU.

At the moment, I'm expecting that could exist a way to fix the issue.

POST CATALYST 13.4 ISSUE OVER POST

I could be wrong, but if it's happening in BIOS it may not be a driver issue. As the drivers don't load until Windows starts as far as I know.

Toshiba laptops are not compatible with the generic drivers from AMD. Use the drivers Toshiba has to offer, or use modded drivers like Leshcat.

""

The following notebooks are not compatible:

 Toshiba® notebooks
 Sony® VAIO® notebooks
 Panasonic® notebooks

 Notebooks equipped with switchable graphics

NOTEBOOKS EQUIPPED WITH SWITCHABLE GRAPHICS MUST GET DRIVERS FROM LAPTOP MANUFACTURER

Com'on - If that the best answer that you can give me... ¿why ATI release a CATALYST Package which support my APU C50 / GPU?.

And this EFFECT has just happen after the 13.4 CATALYST Package Driver was installed!

Look this is my Device ID:

PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_9804&SUBSYS_FDF61179

And this appear in the inf file driver installation:

Search "VEN_1002&DEV_9804" (3 hits in 3 files)

  D:\DRIVERS_PORTACHO\VIDEO\13-4_vista_win7_win8_32_dd_ccc_whql\Packages\Drivers\Display\W8_INF\CW155980.inf (1 hit)

Line 239: "%AMD9804.1%" = ati2mtag_Wrestler, PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_9804

  D:\DRIVERS_PORTACHO\VIDEO\13-4_vista_win7_win8_32_dd_ccc_whql\Packages\Drivers\Display\W8_INF\CE155980.inf (1 hit)

Line 246: "%AMD9804.1%" = ati2mtag_Wrestler, PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_9804

  D:\DRIVERS_PORTACHO\VIDEO\13-4_vista_win7_win8_32_dd_ccc_whql\Packages\Drivers\Display\W8_INF\CL155980.inf (1 hit)

Line 240: "%AMD9804.1%" = ati2mtag_Wrestler, PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_9804

So... If I buy a PCI-E ATI /AMD RADEON HD 6250 - should I expect the same EFFECT?  Should not I?

I accept that Toshiba have a Driver for my Device, but have years outdated... AGAIN... shold not ATI support my GPU just because it's mounted on a LAPTOP?

I just want know if THEY (ATI/AMD) could give instructions to fix this, is awful wait that windows or linux (since this Issue happen since the BIOS affect everything!) back from a stand-by, cross my fingers, pray and see if my screen get works fine!

Go back to the driver version that works...12.1. You really won't see much if any difference trying to 'update' that card. Unless you use modded drivers, you will have to use the last drivers Toshiba offered. Thank Toshiba for that, not AMD.

I mean, I did it!

But the Damage IT'S DONE!

Doesn't matter what CATALYST PACKAGE it is installed... have the ISSUE since the BIOS START (BIOS SPLASH SCREEN).

I didn't knew that exist a modded CATALYST DRIVERS (Leshcat) - You say - "Don't upgrade your OFFICIAL Catalyt Package because you will not see any difference - but don't worry exist some NOT-OFICIAL AND MODIFIED - try it and see if that (MOD) works to you"?. AGAIN - ATI/AMD must juck take off the HD 6250 support It SO SIMPLE but if they don't - they must garantee that thing's like my issue don't happen or response, see and give (to me) a way to fix the issue! - by the way the issue slice the screen in 3 columns - the middle it's in the middle, but left and rigth are in the wrong place :S

But you see...the 6250 has support....just not in a Toshiba laptop. AMD tells you they don't support the custom drivers that Toshiba requires. Nor Panasonic. Nor Sony Vaio.
