OK, the essential info:

Graphics Card: Radeon HD 7520G (unknown version)

Inside an HP Pavilion G6-2235us running Win 8 64-bit, with an AMD A6-4400M APU.

The problem: So, as a good little user, I wander by the AMD website, looking for updates to my hardware's drivers and such.

I can't find my graphics card in the driver search thing, and the auto-detect can't sense it either.

What the heck?

If you have switchable graphics, when you try and install updates it will throw the error message you got. AMD only offers generic drivers....You must get your driver updates from the laptop manufacturer. This sticky gives some info: >
