I bought a Dell U2913WM to use as a dual screen setup only to find out that it can only display its native 2560x1080 resolution via DVI-D input... but my laptop only has VGA and HDMI ports, no DVI. I obviously should have done a little research before buying a monitor with a non-standard resolution, but I didn't. Oh well.

After doing some digging, it seems that resolution should be doable via HDMI 1.3 (which my laptop has), but my card doesn't support anything above 1920x1080 via HDMI out of the box (it does via DVI, but I have no DVI out). I've read that nVidia software allows users to set custom resolutions but I can't find anything like that in the Catalyst software. Is there any way to get my monitor's full resolution or am I out of luck?
