So, I have been on a mission.  I want a nice laptop...  That being said I want a nice laptop with one of the latest a10-5*** APU's with a good screen.  Why is it that you either have to go ultra highend gaming laptop (MSI, ASUS, Saber, etc...)  to find ANY A series laptop with a good screen resolution.  So this is why I'm looking for your help...   I have been looking to purchase a new laptop and my qualifications I thought were simple.  I want a 17 inch screen and an A10-5*** APU.  That's it.  I'm going to yank the hard drive and replace with SSD. Windows will never stay on there and would actually prefer to purchase without.  No need for Bill Gates to live in my UEFI bios, and the memory will be bumped up since manufacturers almost always use memory with low clock speeds.

Am I alone in wanting to be able to purchase quality components with an AMD processor?  If you find a laptop that doesn't $uck on specs post a link.  I think we need to make it easier for people to find them, and I know I would appreciate it very much.

Well, you know you don't want a Toshiba, Sony, or Panasonic. You don't want 'switchable graphics' or 'dual graphics'. Intel I3, I5, I7 processors are my preference ....but APU's are available too.  So, why not look at Clevo/Sager or AVA Direct or Power Notebooks and build-to-order what you want?

@stumped

Thanks for the reply, but the point was not to get an intel product.  It was to find out where I can get a 17" laptop with good screen resolution.  Or to find out what people think the reason is that only Intel chips get the screens with the higher resolutions, even though the graphics performance of an AMD APU blows Intel away.

I am aware that I can get a custom built laptop from some of the companies you suggested, I'm really just trying to figure out why when AMD has a winning product. (Not something that they have done in a while) does the market insist that they are shoved into laptops with poor specs.
