Recently purchased a toshiba satelite laptop, came with the a6 quad, 4gb ram and the radeon HD 8400. in the driver selection area with the drop down menus i believe i correctly chose the right driver(1. notebook graphics, 2. radeon hd series, 3. radeon hd8xxxm, and 8 64 bit). However whenever i launch the mobility tool that the drop down menus directed me towards, it says it cannot download due to incompatible hardware/software.
i tried your autodetect app/program with no luck either, just gives me an error saying it couldnt find my product or os.
i hope that is enough context and background info.

this laptop is right out of the box, i always install drivers first thing when i set up my computers, and am in no way computer illiterate, but ive always used nvidia cards on my desktop.
does anyone have any idea why the detector and the supposed driver for my gpu wouldnt recognize either? its not like i have unstable or sketchy software installed, i havent even gotten to that yet. ive seriously only uninstalled norton and replaced with avg, and installed chrome.

Try getting the drivers from Toshiba. They made the laptop.

Why and how would I get my drivers from toshiba when it's an amd card. I've never went to the manufacturer to update my nvidia cards why would I go to them for my amd drivers. That doesn't make sense.

Plus I've already tried using their updator bloat ware and it's useless.

isnt there a more manual update exe I can launch instead of this catalyst stuff?

with my nvidia card  I download and install the specific update 320.43 etc, I never use nvidias control center type app that's similar to catalyst.

Can I find the specific updates for amd drivers or am I really restricted to catalyst?

I don't get why a brand new system would be unable to update the card put inside of it let alone amd not recognizing my components.

Toshiba laptops cannot use generic drivers. Use what they offer, or use the Leshcat drivers.
