When i go to drivers download and i chose notebook graphics / AMD 8970Mand then select win 8.1 x64 there are no drivers display as result, but if i chose similar options and win 8x64 then i can see the catalyst 13.9 and latest beta available. So should i understand that there is no catalyst available for GPU AMD 8970M /win 8.1x64? or?..

Wow, this forum it's indeed very useful..i've got no answer on my question asked more than half of month ago.

Now, i know that on release of the catalyst 11.9+ wrotes that is for win 7 / 8 / 8.1 (that if u chose win 8 under the operating system section) but why if i chose the win 8.1 it display nothing?..why is that section even available to select if it's nothing there? OMG AMD, i always like u but i really think that u should take a look at nvidia's website to see how things should be done..and also take an example from them when it cames to drivers release..3 WHQL's/year as u do it, is really bad if u ask me..especially now when things are changing lightning fast in pc technology and OS's..please start offering a good support as it should be..

AMD's download center is bad. I found download link for the latest catalyst mobility using by 3rd-party website.

http://www2.ati.com/DriverS/mobile/13-9_mobility_win7_win8_64_dd_ccc_whql.exe (works for me on win 8.1)

I'm starting to think that more things are bad when it comes to AMD..lots of problems especially in notebook department (GPU's) and drivers that really suck compared to the ones from competitors (nvidia)...5-8 BETA until a final WHQL release? this is insane..they want users to test drivers for them and more than they should do it..or idk, many times i have the impression that they don't even care when it came to laptops stuff..and if this is true..then they should stop providing hardware from notebooks if they don't offer a proper support for that department..

They don't have lots of problems. I just fine there mobility drivers support lacking. No where near as good as the desktop counterparts for duel GPU setups.

The Single GPU setups work perfectly though provided the laptop manufactuerer doesn't fiddle with the GPU so you can take advantage of the AMD Mobility drivers.

My Asus laptop is old enough to not have all the cool & quite and ULPS and all the other stuff to throttle the laptop so the battery runs longer than their competitors. Asus made a feeble attempt to fiddle by putting some controls in that would 'optimize' my laptop for games, etc....which was the frirst thing I deleted. I update every month from AMD and never had a issue.
