I just reformatted my PC (Alienware M17X-R2, AMD Radeon HD5870) and downloaded the latest drivers (13-9_mobility_win7_win8_64_dd_ccc_whql.exe).

When I try to run the executable, I get the following error:

"The version of this file is not compatible with the version of Windows you're running.  Check your computer's system information..."

The thing is, I'm running Win 7 Home Premium Edition 64-Bit.  I even tried running the 32-bit version of the driver executable, but it's giving me the same error message!

As it is, I'm having to use the standard Windows display drivers.  How in the world can I update my graphic drivers if the driver executable won't let me?  Please, can someone help?

Sure did.  I did a complete Windows Update (130 updates) before even attempting to install anything.  All .Net frameworks were downloaded and installed via update.

Ok...try downloading the 13.11v2 drivers from here. If it does not go smoothly...then uninstall the old driver suite using 'remve a program' in your control panel...do a 'express uninstall' of all amd software. Reboot. Install the new driveers.
