Hi guys, I'm brand new to this forum.
I have a Sony Vaio Model Number: SVE14A290X with Windows 8.1 installed. It has an AMD Radeon 7670m 2gb graphics card along with an Intel HD 4000 graphics card. Obviously this mean it has switchable graphics.
The problem I am encountering is with the driver. First off when I updated my computer to windows 8.1, the fan was extremely loud and I was told the problem was with my video card drivers. So I looked on the AMD website and found the newest beta drivers and installed them. Afterwards I read that these drivers did not work with laptops with switchable graphics. So next, I went onto my laptops VAIO update application, and it said that I should install the driver version: 188.8.131.52, so I did. The fan noise went away, but now the Catalyst Control Center says "there are currently no seetings that can be configured" and the program doesn't open, which makes my computer use the Intel HD 4000 card 100% of the time. This is VERY annoying because I need to use my 7670m graphics card for playing games and watching videos.
How can I fix this issue? I am getting extremely frustrated after trying to work with this issue for about 5 days now. Thanks for any help in advance.
