p177sm clevo

Intel i7, 16gb corsair RAM, 4gb 8970M, Windows 7 ultimate 64bit.

Hi! I am fairly inexperienced with this type of things so apologies in advance if I make little sense. Il try to put in as much detail as possible.

My new laptop seems to not pick up the 8970M and is using the standard on board (I think). Here is what I can tell you:

When I go to devices there is a yellow hazard symbol on the only thing I can see that says graphics (standard VGA socket adaptor) code 10- cannot start.

I tried to download at catalyst thing and that does install. I also downloaded the autodetectdriver from the amd website and that does download the windows7 64 bit driver but when i hit install nothing seems to happen.

If I am leaving out any info please let me know.

Also I went into the BIOS and that picks up the fact that the 8970M is there but I dont see any enable button. Sorry if some of what I said doesnt make sense Im in over my head

Try installing these drivers http://drivers.prostarserver.com//VGA/AVGA_15.151.0.zip for Clevo P177SM - Windows 7, their own support page seems to only list W8 drivers. If nothing changes, boot into safe mode and use Driver Fusion / Driver Sweeper and remove all AMD drivers, then boot normally and try to install these again.

I have the same issue with my Clevo. I bought it without a OS and installed Win7. Clevo shows only Win8 drivers/updates/etc for my model. I found the Sager model that corresponds to my Clevo. Went to the Sager site and there were the drivers/patches/bios etc. for Win7 and Win8. I believe Sager NP8295 is a clone of your Clevo. Check it out.
