Here's what I suggest.

Uninstall the old AMD drivers and software using your computer control panel "uninstall a program". Locate 'AMD install manager'..use "Express uninstall all AMD software' including the installer. Reboot. Install the driver suite you have downloaded from here  http://sites.amd.com/us/game/downloads/Pages/radeon_win8-64.aspx
Do not use the 'auto detect and install utility. Reboot. You should be good to go.

I have the same problem - last set of drivers that worked for me was 13.10.

Uninstalling the old drivers didn't help, neither does trying to run the driver installer in compatibilty mode btw.  It's weird I looked all over on the net but couldn't seem to find any other people with the same issue, so it doesn't seem widespread.

Blah, it's frustrating.

Alright, I just got done uninstalling the catalyst driver and installing the driver from the link you sent.

Installed fine but when I look under Start>Information>Product Summery>Software on the CCC

It says that my catalyst version is 13.11 and not 13.12

They all say that..its a proof reading error. You have the correct, new drivers.

I would never install a driver that says "Desktop" on my laptop. I managed to get the 13.12 mobility package by using a download manager since AMD's method is broken. The driver seems to be working fine but I have a question.

Every Mobility package up to and including 13.4 has given me the Vision Engine Control Center. This 13.12 driver gives me the regular Catalyst Control Center. AMD says that you get Vision if you have an AMD processor and CCC if you have Intel. This is obviously untrue since I have an AMD A8-3500M APU.

Has the Vision center been done away with or did AMD just forget to put it in the Mobility package.

Also, saying that everyone gets the incorrect driver version showing is also untrue. Mine shows 13.12 like it should.

@stumped  thanks man. I have tried everything to update my drivers on my HP laptop. Why doesn't AMD tell people this ? The download tool would never allow me to update and have been using Leshcat drivers. I feel better using the drivers from AMD. Thanks again you rock!
