So my laptop is an HP Pavilion dv7-4285dx laptop with a graphics card of ATI Mobility Radeon HD 6370 with a switchable Intel(R) HD graphics card. This is the graphics software:

Driver Packaging Version 8.771.1-100909a-105694C-HP

Provider ATI Technologies Inc.

2D Driver Version 8.01.01.1071

2D Driver File Path /REGISTRY/MACHINE/SYSTEM/ControlSet001/Control/CLASS/{4D36E968-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}/0001

Direct3D Version 8.14.10.0779

OpenGL Version 6.14.10.10188

Catalyst™ Control Center Version 2010.0909.1412.23625

Now the issue is when I open up Starcraft II or Left 4 Dead, they both tell me the driver is out of date, which I agree because I think this is from 2010, but when I go to the HP driver page, they have no update. Then I check the AMD page and there is an update. So I went and downloaded:
 Display Driver ver. 13.251
OpenCL(tm) Driver ver. 10.0.1348.5
Catalyst Control Center ver. 2013.1206.1602.28764
from http://driverscollection.com/?file_cid=458634667266d045ec3ba1e27d6.
I got it from there because I couldnt get it from your website since it told me to look at HP's website, which didn't help.
After I downloaded this version, the screen brightness couldn't be changed and didnt follow what it was--it was all the way up when it should have been all the way down. Another thing is the switchable graphics card wouldnt work; it didnt switch to the Intel graphics card. Is there any solution to this?

I did read that thread and installed the newest AMD driver, but the screen still was on 100% brightness and couldnt be adjusted, nor could the graphics card be switched. That's the issue Im having, not finding the driver for AMD

There are other alternatives however. Lescat drivers.  The latest Lescat drivers are 14.1. To install these you will need to reinstall the latest drivers from HP. Lescat installs over them.

So you're saying that those notebooks with switchable graphics cards arent compatable, correct? Well, I have an HP, not a sony, toshiba, or panasonic laptop.
Thank you for the lesh link. I'll try that

I'm having the same problem with a clean install of Windows 8.1 and the latest Catalyst drivers. Brightness controls stop working.

HP Envy 15 model 1150nr laptop

Mobility Radeon 5830 graphics

Here's what is happening for me. Windows initially installs the " Microsoft basic Display Adapter" driver. With this driver, the brightness controls work fine, whether it's being changed from the kepboard function keys, from the Power Options screen, or from the Windows 8.1 settings menu (Win + I).

As soon as the driver is updated to the lastest Catalyst version, brightness controls stop working completely. I've tried every proposed solution found online to no avail.

Also tried using the latest beta version of Catalyst. Still doesn't work. I have updated all necessary drivers, including Intel chipset motherboard drivers.

When the latest Catalyst drivers are installed, brigtness controls just don't work. Reverting back to the MS basic display adapter fixes the issue immediately (without rebooting even), but is not an optimal driver for performance, so it's not really a good option.

Can anyone help? Thanks in advance!
