Hi.

I bought recently a  G500 i7 3612QM laptop and I installed windows 7 ultimate 64-bit.

My problem started when I tried to install the drivers for the AMD HD8750M card.

There was allways an (!) at the device manager near the card and when I clicked there was a message about an error.

After installing  "driver magician" I finally got rid of the  (!) but now at the device manager says "AMD Radeon HD 8600/8700M".

I thought ok, at least the card is in function and I didnt think about it for a few days but after installing REVIT, "design program", when i do a simple rendering I saw (fron task manager) that CPU use is 100% and the amount of really hot air is increasing.

I dont really know right now if the AMD 8750 Card is working or not or if only the Intel HD Graphics 4000 is working and so the CPU goes to 100%.

I made also an instalation a few days ago of the AMD video driver from the site of lenovo and I dan severe flickering problems of the screen. (However between the flickerings  I saw at the Device Manager for the first time the name "AMD HD8750M card" and without  (!) near.

I unistalled it offcourse to stop the flickering of the screen and i used again the  "driver magician" who installed the  "AMD Radeon HD 8600/8700M".

I am desperate and I dont want to burn my new laptop.

I searched all over Internet and many have the same problem with this card and the Intel HD Graphics 4000, but nobody has a solution. At least I havent fount one.

Can anybody help me please?

Regards.

John.

Yesterday I downloaded the last driver from AMD site. 14.100.0.0 of 4/17/2014 to install it in the laptop.

I uninstalled the old one which showed 8600/8700M and I made a restart.

When I restarted the laptop I noticed that it started to search on Internet for driver. It found one and installed it . I opened the Device manager and I saw AMD 8700M without ! near. (The driver was the version 12.100.14.0 from AMD of the 2/4/13.

I was happy and I opened revit but I saw Intel 4000 without possibility to change.Well, I thought, maybe I nedd to restart the laptop.

I restarted it and screen Flickering started immediatelly.

I uninstalled again the driver, I closed the Internet and I installed the new one from AMD (14.100.0.0 of 4/17/2014). I restarted the laptop and no screen  flickering occured but when I opened device manager I saw again AMD  8600/8700M.

Now, is there a way to see what I use when doing heavy work at the laptop?

Right now I dont even know if there is a 8700 inside and if Works or not.

Can anybody help?

Regards.

John.

STICKY>>UPDATING MOBILITY DRIVERS

If it was new, you had no reason to try to "update". Use system restore to a earlier point and leave it alone. All your drivers must come from the laptop manufacturer...not AMD.

NP...I answer to about anything You should be good for 1-2 updates from Lenovo..then they forget about you..as all laptop manufacturers do. Your option then is to use 'modded' drivers. Leshcat is the most popular.

Thank you stumped.

But is there a way to see what card you use?

I saw a similar discussion and one said that they must dont worry even his card does have the general drivers ( I mean instead of driver 8750 for example, does have 8### driver.

Also he was sure that the card works.

Is there a program to see if the card work under heavy load? When I installed the last driver from amd I clearly saw better quality on the screen desk, so something must be changed. But if you dont even see anywhere the name of your card you cant be sure 100%.

I saw that many make confrontations with frame rates.

I am new to this. I will see  those  drivers you told me if they have something for my case

.
